Contextualizing Culture: Applying Historical Thinking to Teaching About Judaism – a Joint PD event with ICS and Thinking Nation

This collaborative session follows a powerful three-part model:

1. Thinking Nation will introduce the skill of Contextualization, showing participants how to place events, people, and concepts within their surrounding circumstances of time and place.

2. ICS will then use this framework to examine the history, beliefs, behaviors, and belonging of Judaism, ensuring participants understand its uniqueness as both a religion and a culture.

3. Finally, Thinking Nation will guide participants in applying contextualization to the content learned about Judaism, examining its profound impact on history, literature, art, and contemporary events.
