Overview

Explore the basic tenets of Judaism – one of the world’s oldest religions. Using the C3 Framework, students will be introduced to Judaism’s 3 Bs: systems of belief, behaviors and experiences of belonging.

About the Lesson

Grade Level: 6-12

Teaching about religion can feel daunting. Our free lesson plan makes it easy to introduce the concept of religion and discuss the topic in your classroom. Using the “3 Bs” provides an accessible and organized framework to learn about Judaism. Students will discover key aspects of Judaism, such as: primary holidays, denominations, places of worship, the coming of age ceremony and more.

The 3B’s framework can be applied when learning about any religion – not just Judaism. This lesson can be used in its entirety or in segments, depending on the course you teach, the focus of the overall topic, or the allotted time frame (one or more class periods).
