Explore the rich and complex story of immigration in this 90-minute professional development workshop from iCivics and the Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS).

The session will open with iCivics providing essential historical context on U.S. immigration. Then, ICS will dive into a specific case study, spotlighting the experiences of Jewish immigrants who came to the United States from 1882 to 1924. You will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and triumphs this group faced as they sought a new life in America.

We’ll wrap up the workshop with ready-to-use teaching materials and strategies from iCivics, empowering you to bring this powerful history to life in your classroom.

This workshop is in partnership with iCivics, led by one of our ICS educators, and is designed for current/future K-12 educators who teach/plan on teaching this content.
