Anne Frank, Antisemitism, and Immigration: Unfinished Stories – with ICS, Center for Jewish History, and Anne Frank Center (NOW VIRTUAL!)
January 26 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm EST
The Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS), in partnership with the Center for Jewish History, and the Anne Frank Center invites English and Social Studies teachers (grades 6-12) to a VIRTUAL professional development program that brings together history, literature, and civic education.
Through interactive presentations, and classroom-ready resources, explore Anne Frank’s story with resources from Anne Frank the Exhibition and the Anne Frank Center. ICS will guide an exploration into the origins and evolution of antisemitism and examine how Anne Frank’s story connects to the Jewish American experience, with particular attention to Jewish immigration to the United States and the impact of the 1924 Immigration Act.
Participants will spend the morning considering how these histories intersect in the past and present, and how they can be effectively taught in today’s classrooms.
Eligible New York State Educators can earn 4 hours of CTLE credit.
