SPHERE – Fostering Dialogue: A Workshop on Civil Discourse and Religious Literacy

Join SPHERE and the Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) for a dynamic workshop designed to equip educators with the tools to teach about religion through civil discourse.
In the first segment, SPHERE will lead an interactive session onresearch and foundational practices for civil dialogue. You’ll learn how to create a classroom environment where students can engage in respectful conversations about complex topics.
Next, ICS will provide a deep dive into the core principles of religious literacy. This content-rich section will help you understand and teach about diverse religious beliefs and practices through nationally recognized best practices for instruction.
This workshop is in partnership with SPHERE, led by one of our ICS educators, and is designed for current/future K-12 educators who teach/plan on teaching this content.
