Georgia Virtual Summer Institute

This three-day (three hours per day) virtual professional development event is conducted by theInstitute for Curriculum Services (ICS), a national nonprofit initiative that develops social studies curricula and offers standards-aligned training to teachers on issues relating to Jews, Judaism, and Jewish history

Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm (EST)
In this 3-day Workshop, you will:
- Deepen your pedagogic content knowledge about this complex world history topic
- Learn new strategies for engaging students with primary source documents
- Receive ready-to-use lesson plans and standards-aligned curriculum
Topics Covered:
- Emergence of Zionism and Arab Nationalism
- World War I and the Broken Promises Made to Arabs and Jews
- The British Mandate Era
- State formation and peace treaties
- Continuing conflict and unresolved issues
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will receive a $200 stipend and a certificate indicating 9 hours of participation will be emailed.
