Mini-Lessons and Stipend Opportunity

We understand that adding extra content to your curriculum isn’t always easy. That’s why we designed these bite-sized “mini” lessons, each just 20–30 minutes long, to seamlessly fit into your instruction. Each lesson explores a unique aspect of Jewish American history and experience. Whether you have time for one or all seven, these lessons provide meaningful ways to enrich your students’ understanding.

What You’ll Get:

  • Your choice of 7 mini-lessons, ranging from 20-30 minutes, including one video-based lesson
  • A $100 stipend for each completed Lesson Implementation Form submitted to us by Monday, June 9, 2025.

Join the Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) and the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History for a 60-minute virtual professional learning workshop. You’ll learn the history and significance of Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) and gain student-ready resources that explore Jewish American identity, history, and experience in your classroom.

ICS Live Virtual Workshop: Teaching About Judaism

Explore one of the world’s oldest religions. This one-hour session will cover Judaism’s beliefs, behaviors, and experiences of belonging. You’ll gain digital activities to incorporate into your classroom as well as the content to help your students understand the basics of Judaism.

This workshop primarily supports 6-12 educators. However, all are welcome to participate!

ICS Live Virtual Workshop: Jewish Americans

In this one-hour session, we’ll examine the rich diversity and history of Jewish Americans, and gain insights that deepen the understandings of identity for all students. Teachers of world history, U.S. history, ethnic studies, human geography and world religions will all find relevant applications and resources in this workshop.

Grab some popcorn and get ready to uncover the Jewish American community’s history, culture, challenges, triumphs, and contributions to American society. This video is paired with a viewing guide to support student learning.

Jewish Americans (Full Lesson)

Our free lesson plan examines the bonds that unite Jewish Americans as an ethnic group, and the rich diversity that exists within the community. In addition, you’ll examine how Jewish Americans have acculturated and assimilated as well as how Jews have been racially categorized in the United States.
