Part 2 of ICS‘ Exploring Jewish Identity series with The Zekelman Holocaust Center, “Coming to America: Jewish Immigration, Restriction, and Resettlement, 1880–1945” will explore Jewish immigration to the United States from 1880 through the post–World War II era, situating it within America’s broader immigration history. Participants will analyze primary sources to understand the push and pull factors of early Jewish migration, Jewish American life in New York, and the repercussions of the 1924 Immigration Act. The session will then examine how domestic antisemitic policies created barriers to immigration during the Holocaust, using local survivor testimonies to illuminate the human impact of restrictive and bureaucratic systems.

Each educator will be provided with dinner, 2 SCECH points, and instructional resources for their classroom.
